About the Training Package

The MTM11 Australian Meat Industry Training Package covers meat industry qualifications from entry level (Certificate I) to Vocational Graduate Diploma for the meat processing, meat retail, smallgoods, game harvesting and food services sectors.

It provides industry competency standards for meat industry jobs including labourers, food services workers, smallgoods operators, wild game harvesters, slaughterers, boners, butchers, meat inspectors, QA officers, supervisors and managers.

The MTM11 Australian Meat Industry Training Package is located on Training.gov.au (TGA), the database on Vocational Education and Training in Australia. TGA is the official National Register of information on Training Packages, Qualifications, Courses, Units of Competency and Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) and has been developed for experienced training sector users.

ArgiFood Skills Australia in partnership with MINTRAC has produced an Evidence Guide for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) wishing to scope MTM11 Qualifications and Skill Sets related to abattoirs, meat safety and animal welfare. The Evidence Guide has been produced to assist RTOs to ensure their trainers and assessors engaged in the delivery of these Qualifications and Skill Sets have the appropriate vocational competence and industry currency required under the current Standards for NVR Registered Training Organisations.
