MINTRAC hosted the first Environment Conference on the 24-25th July 2012.
The conference focused on the concept:
'Energy into the future'
- waste water,
- energy savings
- and biogas cogeneration.
There was an exciting industry site tour of Coopers Brewery. With Coopers commitment to reducing their environmental footprint, Coopers are able to draw most of their electricity and steam requirements from a 4.4megawatt (MW) natural gas-powered co-generation plant located on site.
The co-generation plant produces more power than the brewery itself uses and the excess power is fed into the South Australian power grid through a high voltage underground power line!
